In this session, we will provide an overview of Learning Ally, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals who face challenges with standard print due to visual impairments, dyslexia, or other disabilities. Learning Ally offers a range of audiobooks designed to make reading accessible and enjoyable for those who need it.

For students with persistent reading difficulties related to dyslexia -- Families will receive information about the Science of Reading, the components of reading, and how they work together in the overall picture of literacy. Those who attend will leave with activities and checklists to help support literacy goals at home.

This session will offer an overview of the various Microsoft tools that are accessible to students. We will cover tools like Immersive Reader, which enhances reading comprehension by providing text-to-speech, translation, and reading preferences; Dictation, a voice-to-text tool; Writing tools, including spelling and grammar suggestions that improve writing quality; Microsoft Lens, which allows users to capture, scan, and share documents; and Math tools, designed to assist with solving mathematical equations.

Being part of a supportive team greatly enhances a student’s achievement. Join us as we explore who makes up your child’s team and how that collaboration can build positive partnerships to benefit their education. We’ll also discuss how participating in meetings and volunteer opportunities can foster effective communication and strengthen these connections.

This presentation will provide an understanding of social narratives and their impact on students. Social narratives are stories presented in a visual way which help children to better understand how to respond to common situations with socially appropriate behaviors.  The presentation will enhance your understanding of social narratives and provide examples and resources to create your own.

This training focuses on enhancing understanding of executive functioning, which encompasses cognitive processes such as planning, organization, time management, and self-regulation. Participants will learn practical strategies to support children in developing these skills, which are essential for success and overall well-being. The training will look at the impact of executive functioning related to the categories of behaviors, learning/organizing, emotions, and social situations/relationships.

This session will cover an introduction to visual supports, their benefits for learning and communication, practical strategies for using them in school, and tips for integrating them into daily routines.
